Before I progress any further, let me apologize for the lack of posting! I do have some excuses, but I won't expand on them right now. Anyway, if I have any readers left, I will get back to doing something.
Today, the Song Saturday is a video of one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite artists ever. I'm sure you all are familiar with Carrie Underwood so I won't elaborate all of her accolades.=) However, I want to share her ACM performance of "Temporary Home" with you; it's positively gorgeous in EVERY sense of the word.
A little background---she co-wrote this song after finishing the book "The Purpose Driven Life." It clearly states how this, meaning earth, is only our temporary home. Also, keep watching after she sings and listen to her heart-warming speech.
Without further ado....Okay, so I am having problems uploading the darn thing....I will post the link and y'all can check it out yourself. (Let me know if it works)

Secondhand Fashion Week--Day 6: Change of Plans
I orignially had a different outfit on--does that ever happen to anyone else: you wear something, buy something and decide to wear it instead? Well, this skirt was a find I picked up this afternoon! Actually, I wasn't going to go into the thrift store--but Mom comes out and tells me I have to see this.....glad I did! (You can't get a good telling of the colors; it's black, cream, white, and purple)The blouse wasn't a thrifted item; nor were my shoes. The pearls I am wearing, however, were given to me by an old family friend. They're undoubtedly fake, but they serve their purpose.
Now, turn your attention to the bottom picture:

If I told you that the purse I have today is the same one I had yesterday, would you believe me? Well, it is. In three second or less, I can change the exterior shell to fit whatever outfit I am wearing. Today, I pulled out my cream shell. I could have gone black if I wanted.....I'll do another post some other day, but that's the concept of Miche!

I hope you all have a very lovely Easter tomorrow! Rejoice that the grave is empty--Christ has risen!

Every Good Friday
Every Good Friday, I find myself playing this song over and over again. I share the lyrics with you every year--and this year is no exception.
On My Cross--sung by FFH
How wide is Your love
That You would stretch Your arms
And go around the world
And why for me would a Savior's cry be heard
I don't know
Why you went where I was meant to go
I don't know
Why You love me so
Those were my nails
That was my crown
That pierced Your hands and Your brow
Those were my thorns
Those were my scorns
Those were my tears that fell down
And just as You said it would be
You did it all for me
After You counted the cost
You took my shame, my blame
On my cross
How deep is Your grace
That You could see my need
And choose to take my place
And then for me, these words I'd hear You say
Father no
Forgive them for they know not what they do
I will go
Because I love them so
(Repeat chorus)

I hope you find encouagement in these lyrics. I know I am so very thankful to the Lord for willing bearing what was mine. And loving me when I daily, hourly, struggle!!
Secondhand Fashion Week--Day 5: I'm Black and Blue All Over
Today, I pulled out one of my favorite wardrobe pieces--my jeans. Ever since I determined that I need to wear more narrow leg pants, and I found a pair that I actually like, during winter months, I use thiese about twice a week. They can go with anything. Sadly, they aren't secondhand...but I did get them on sale at Kohl's =)
My top, however, is a secondhand find; I love it as well. Turquoise is one of my favorite colors. My shoes are the same ones from Monday--can't you tell they are my favorite pair =) And today, I am wearing two bracelets, which I don't often wear. One was a gift from a gift exchange and the other one was made by my dear friend, Meghan's brother, Ronnie (got my favorite college football teams colors =)
In this picture, you will see with my Miche bag! I love that purse. Do all of you know about those? I'll have to tell you sometime.- Shirt by Amy Byer (thrifted)

- Shoes by Jessica Spenser (bought at Shoe Carnival)

Secondhand Fashion Week--Day 4: Preparing For Rain
I'm a person who likes to dress for the weather she wishes it were outside. You see, it is cold and rainy here; it will be for the next several days. But in my mind, I am thinking about sunshine, tans, summer, etc. I mean, who isn't?!This outfit is only part thrift store, but all clearance racks. When I saw the skirt at the thrift stores, I fell in love with it--regardless of the fact that I needed to pin it a little bit. Though I don't have my favorite handbag in the picture, this skirt enables me to change my Miche bag from pink, to yello, to black in a snap. =)
My pink shirt was clearance rack at Macy's and my black sandals were clearance at Payless Shoe Store. Yay! I love clearance--I get all of my clothes that way =)
- Shirt by Alfante Petite (bought at Macy's)
- Skirt by No Boundaries (thrift store)
- Shoes by Fioni (bought at Payless)
Sorry, y'all, about that first picture. I think I was in the middle of talking with my brother when he took it =)
