My parent's got married 21 years ago today. Wow!! Now, I know they would be the first to tell you that married life hasn't been easy. They have had trials, tears, triumphs, and everything in between. But the point is is that through it all, they have remained together, and their marriage is even stronger than when they began life together in 1986. The have both become believers since their wedding day, and you can see evidence of how the Lord has changed them both, and is continuing to, into His likeness.
I desire to get married someday. What girl doesn't? Yet, I want to use my parents as an example to follow. Now, since my family is not doing the dating game, I won't have all the guys in the world to choose from. However, I want to marry a man who will stay with me for the long haul in "sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, until death do us part." My parents have remained committed to their vows, and that is something I can boast of with pride. I pray that the Lord will bring someone as wonderful as my dad into my life, and that I will be as great of Proverbs 31 and Titus 2 wife as she is. Now, they both would tell you that they are far from this description, but they aren't in my eyes. Yes, they have problems and make mistakes, but they both grow through them, and that means so much.
So, Mom and Dad, I wish you both a very Happy Anniversary. May the Lord bless your day and many more years of married life together. I pray that I will have a marriage like yours to show one day, one that my children would be proud to acknowledge! I love you both so very much!

Thank you for your kind, honoring words.
And, actually, although Daddy and I don't come from Christian families, we do have parents (and grandparents for me) that set a positive example. Both sets of my grandparents celebrated 50 years of marriage, Daddy's parents did, and my parents will in 2 years. We have been given a legacy of committed marriages. That is amazing by today's standards.
Happy Anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. G! I too am blessed by having committed parents. This June, we'll be celebrating their being married for 35 years!
