What Will Happen

Tomorrow is my seventeenth birthday. It is such an amazing thing to think about. I know my day will be wonderful: the plan is to have lunch with Dad at one of the parks downtown, provided the weather is nice. I will have piano lessons as usual. We'll come home and have my traditional fattening dinner, not to mention my cheesecake. We'll play Taboo, my favorite game, and just have a wonderful day as a family. They will make me feel blessed, as I have already begun to feel so with my friends and their cards, gifts, and prayers.

However, what will happen after February 13th? I mean, if you go by my calendar, I have the little kid's Valentine party that I have been asked to direct at church. (That's not forgetting doing something at home beforehand.) I will have Mom and Dad's anniversary on Thursday with my making dinner. The Boise Philharmonic will enthrall me with the melody of the Wedding March and other such pieces. Yet, what do I have looking at me after that, or even in between.

A new year of life is an exciting adventure. I wold be lying if I said that I didn't hope for easy, not roller coaster like, adventures. Yet, I also can't say I am in control of that either. You all read my post on this "nostalgic" attitude already. I just wanted a place to say thank you to all of you for being there for me when I was sixteen and I know that, if God wills it, you'll all be even more there in my seventeenth year.

However, don't expect me to change much. I detest when people think that now they are a year older, they need to act like it. I know that I need to be myself. However, my prayer is that the only change I will make is in growing more into his likeness, maturing in my faith and my walk with Him as one matures with age.

I also want to thank my parents and brother who have been with me for sixteen years and going on seventeen. (Never fear, unlike Liesel in the Sound of Music, I am not infatuated with boys right now:-) My family knows me better than anybody, on the planet Earth that is. They were the ones who have been there from the beginning. I am indebted to them! I expect them to continue to aid me in the years and decisions to come.

Well, this is the last post as a sixteen year old. Thanks again, my dearest family and friends. May God bless you all and I will be "seeing" you in the days, years, and adventures to come. To God be the Glory! Great things He will do!!
