Jack Harrington and his wife, Grace, are about to do what most Hollywood people do--they have someone write their biography. These two are just one a few authentically Christian couples in the business, so naturally, it is going to come up while doing the research.

The biographer expects some ranting diatribe, but what she hears instead is a story of struggle, redemption, grace, love...and consequences. It truly is the inspiration that scripts use.

Worlds Collide pleasantly surprised me....because the beginning chapters were really slow going. Written in the first person, the story did not differentiate between characters that well. Yet as the story unfolded, one section was from "Jack's" point of view, the next from "Grace's" and so on. That made everything flow so much better and consequently, the viewer can be drawn into the story much easier.

I did love the Hollywood atmosphere and Alison portrayed it so realisitically. You got a sense of the depravity, the glitz and glamour, everything else that is synonymous with Hollywood today. Grace is extremely likable from the start. And Jack, for some reason, reminds me of George Clooney--only younger. He is the absolute playboy, who does have a radical change. (Now Clooney needs one of those ;-)

The story did make me cry. Actions do have consequences, regardless of becoming a Christian or not. Yes, we are redeemed by the spotless blood of the Lamb, but we do live in a fallen world. One can probably sense what direction the story is about to take--yet that doesn't stop you from shedding a tear or two.
