Another elk, this one in the center of town. In fact, there were a ton of them in cozy, rather boring, Mammoth.
Could you imagine that? A female elk eating the tree in your front yard?!
What is it with animals getting super close to people? Oh, well! Here is a bull elk.

IT is so fun to see all those elk hanging around downtown Mammoth. That makes the drive up to Mammoth absolutely worth it.
Mom, we also get candy in Gardiner. That also makes the drive worth it.
Is food all you ever think about? You're right, Mom, about the drive, but it is a long way to go for just elk.
